Honestly, I think that Microsoft is in the right for doing this change. Downloading counterfeit software is not only illegal, but it hurts the developers that made the software.

True, but it does little to no harm to those who use emulators. Typically those old games aren't getting much of any revenue anyways, and it's hard enough to have the original game on the original console. Having emulators (illegal, idfc) allows people to play those old games. Now I'm not saying this is everyone who uses counterfeit products, but I'm sure it is most of them. Like 5hift said, it really isn't anybody's business what I or others do with their computer.
I'm not sure why Windows would introduce this I'm sure they're getting paid a lump sum of money because it doesn't benefit them at all. It actually more so does the opposite, lessening the value of Windows 10 tbh.
