Oh please.
If you're going to pretend this is like voting for your class president and whoever is most popular gets the job, you might as well forget voting.
I for one can't vote yet but FFS what the hell is the point even voting if you're not going to vote for the candidate you want to win?
Go ahead and call me whatever you want. I'm just standing up for what I think is right.

The problem is:
Say I want to vote for Ralph Nader or something. If I cast my vote for Ralph Nader, I'll be one of about 47 total people who ever voted for the guy. The guy clearly won't win, so why the hell did I even vote?
INSTEAD
Oh, look. Candidate A has similar views to Nader, and Candidate A and B are easily going to be the top 2 candidates. Instead of throwing my vote in the garbage, I'll vote for Candidate A to make an impact on the election and still get generally what I would want from this candidate.
If you're going into elections voting for people that are only going to get .0003% of the votes you should probably spend your time doing something else because what you'd be doing at that moment is pretty pointless.
