Farming, pyrate quest, looting, and bug catching are all good ways of making money. Sure, they make take a while, but if you do it long enough you could easily makes lots of money. Stacking up on a certain bug and selling them when the witch wants them is a good method.

Also, guild house and house farming are methods of being in control of the money you make. Yeah it takes long but after a while you could end up with a farm of blacks or cyans.
