do you really need equipment and go to the gym to get results or can you do it without all the fancy equipment?

Without. But a pullup bar is necessary since it works a ton of muscles on the body.
I don't use any equipment in real life.
> Frogstands really work the shoulders and arms.
> Pushups for chest + arms
> Squats for legs
>Pullups for arms, back, and core.
You just have to spend some time of your own and look up new techniques, it's A LOT for me to list.
