Me logging on and sparring every day isn't going to change anything. If staff want people to spar actively, they'd have made necessary changes by now. The fact is that the sparring community is small so they probably don't care to cater to that group.
Like I've said for years, if iClassic offers a prize for leaderboard placements or brings back the hats, sparring would be more active. If there was a singles tournament that used the leaderboard for seeding, just like the GST, sparring would be a lot more competitive.
It might be too late for that now though, because the server lag that sparrers deal with in present times is just discouraging.
Why are there 200-post GST prediction threads? Why do we have people talking about GST hats for 3+ pages? Why has towering never died out? Ya, because you get little prizes for doing all of those things.
On a personal level, I've done my part. I've sparred 44k times, way more than any player that came purely from Facebook, and I wasn't even active until 2012. Sparring just gets boring after a while.

I couldn't agree more with everything on this post...the lack of incentives makes for very little focus on 1v1 sparring for sure. While the server lag just further ruins the every day experience for most people sparring. Heck I've only been here for half the time Thallen has, done 1/4 of the spars and I'm mostly inactive from 1v1 unless it's GH sparring. It's hard to justify spending much time on something that isn't much fun, and doesn't yield a reward.
