The staffs' definition of "boosting" that will get you reset- killing an alternate account repeatedly, combining accounts (no longer possible), abusing glitches (respawn boost), or otherwise breaking other rules to gain kills. "Crowd/mob/riot pk" is not technically illegal.
However, player density and movementis a thing here... When 20 people are just standing, not moving, bunched into a 4x4 tile square, (and pushed into a corner where knock-back and blink are ineffective), it takes zero brain power to stand in one spot and spam one button over and over. Also, another thing is overworld pk in general has instant respawn with no warp. IMO, crowd pk is comparable to sparring at balamb or angel clan (back when that existed)-- not breaking any rules, but people got easy, quick wins; rest of spar community frowned upon it. Or as Comyt said, it could be compared to selective sparring.
And no, towers don't have "mobs of people where you just spam your sword." Most towers except Deadwood have a nice medium to large sized flag room with a much lower player density. If you have no spar skill or dont move around, youre going to die quickly. Tower PKing is more comparable to guild sparring.
No, not even MoD fort is close to comparable to crowd pk. Ever since MoD's outdoor entrance became a nonpk zone, there has been less than half the traffic as before that change. The only difference between MoD and any other tower is the fact that there are more single PKers than attacking guilds; due to the short respawn distance.
Do I care that it happens? No. However, there's a delusion that being at the top of the daily/weekly/total boards means youre good; which isnt necessarily true. I mean, look at your K/D ratio or somethin. js.
