I agree to remove food in bases like shiz said, brings firemaking more of a purpose too.
Personally if I had it my way I would remove food entirely from the server to further seperate us from era's style of gameplay

Will removing food entirely benefit new players who have not bothered to spend countless axes leveling up woodcutting and buy a flint and steel to spend all the wood from woodcutting just to heal for a few seconds? (Seriously most new players are lv1 in firemaking and have have half the inventory of food and plant seeds)
If most complaints of healing is from basing why not make anything that recovers health in bases requires twice as long to use again or 1/2 healing in bases? (campfire heals EVERYONE around it so you are screwd if killed and killer is near campfire too)
