I didn't want to practice crazy amount of hours each day either when I started studying music. However, if you do choose to study music education or musicology there will be less practical exams and therefore lower demands on the amount of time you have to sit alone in a practice room. There are also a lot of other musical studies that have less focus on practice, and more on for example music history or composition.
Remember, this is your choice. Your mom can't choose for you, nor live your life and there is nothing wrong with trying out different things to see if they suit your interests. Good Luck!

Thanks for the advice! I don't know, I get really inspired when I listen to people play the piano but I'm honestly not that good. I'm bad at composition, since there are way too many rules that I always manage to break (I barely passed intermediate harmony). I just enjoy playing the piano when it sounds good and I get that satisfaction...might I also add that I have only played classical music up to this point, pop music rhythms confuse the heck out of me. Also my harmony teacher specifically told me not to go into music since there's barely a career path for it. I'm really confused on what I want to do honestly I don't even know what I want at this point.
start making a youtube video to show your compositions! I would love to hear those pianoeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees. :3

Oh Nooo I don't compose man. All I've learned is how to write in baroque era style with help from a figured bass LOL
As for regular old music..well I guess if you come over to my house

Do what you want.
Your life isn't about meeting certain standards that aren't even made by you.

I wish. My brother is in orthodontics and my parents basically cut him off since he didn't get into med school.
