A big reason they removed warpers is because a ton of people in one area trying to get inside a tiny portal takes a toll on the server. With the queue system people can join from any part of the map so it's not congested into one area.

Thats a good idea too, I always liked it when an admin said "warp in snowtown" or something and it was a race to get to it first. Only problem I can see with it is newer players not knowing where to go to get to the warp.
