That's really the problem. One of them at least. I said before, if they allow edits, they should just allow a custom hat entirely. Edits leave it up to the players to determine how much to edit. That leaves a lot of wiggle room for the players to go too far - or try. It also can be considered insulting by the GFX staff who made the hats if the player wants it edited too much and tries to get it uploaded by keeping the shape of the hat, but drastically changing everything else. Players also might ask for a different hat than what's offered so they can edit a 'better' one. It basically provides more power, or at least the assumption of power to the winners so that they can try to overdo it and make it difficult for the staff. The thing is, not every winner is going to do subtle changes, or want to do them, and it creates a whole hassle for the staff. Yes, it can be done smoothly and efficiently, but it won't always happen that way.
