The update for nerfing staffs was a good idea. Ol' West is based on a GUN dominant server. Now with the nerfing of staffs, it can now make the game lean toward using a gun. Players without staffs would get destroyed by staff users, now that has been fixed. Staffs were only brought down by .05. Staffs are STILL GOOD. They are helpful for basing as in healing/attacking the flag. But now instead of rushing, players now have to at least try to kill all members of the defending Gang to get a chance.
