Sometimes when the blob jumps he jumps across the whole swamp and even if you land couple hits on the blob doesn't mean you get slimy spils for sure.

No, it does. As long as you get in at least one hit (with your SWORD, no bombs/arrows), you'll get spoils.
And it can definitely jump pretty far. So make sure your screen is zoomed out.
