The in-game forums were originally removed to publicize Tashkin's Zone-Play forums. And it worked until Tashkin was moving servers and the accounts got wiped out, then everyone's activity plummeted since they lost all of their posts and stuff like that.
I myself loved the Zone-Play forums, it's a shame it's gone.

Plus Zone Play was super ugly
