Then why all the belt tightening in areas where lists are kept? Bugs removed from roaming free, pets default setting to 'disable movement', loot limit, event queue (instead of warpers)... It's not always about size, also... sometimes it relates to bandwidth and data transfer speeds. As systems are re-tooled, it cleans processes up that we don't even see except if they don't function properly.

areas where constant movement is involved, not areas where a simple array of numbers is involved. movement takes a lot of memory to load, updating an array of numbers doesn't. this change was done to either nerf looting more, and most definitely to force people to sell their loots while still giving them the opportunity to sell it to the all the NPCs.
