I suffered from acne for years until I stopped using products, since they obviously didn't work for me, and instead lightly rinsed my face off in the shower for 10 seconds each day. It still works, my skin is soft and healthy, but I still get ingrown hairs on my face since I still have a little bit of peach fuzz. I feel much healthier and I don't have overly dry skin or overly oily skin. However, it only worked on my face and not my back and shoulders, so I still wash those parts of my body. I also noticed that a lot of it had to do with my hair, as mine gets pretty greasy while I sleep, but my new, and rather simple, routine also prevented that from being a big problem.
At first it kinda sucks and it did take a while for it to kick in, maybe a few months, and I break out a little bit every couple months for like a week but overall it worked wonders for me. This is also coming from a roofer who basically works in a pile of dirt and glass shards all day.
I recommend trying it if you're willing to take that risk.
