I find this interesting after previous discussions regarding hat rewards to be pointless. Not pointing to anyone specifically here, but there was the general atmosphere that towering for the sake of towering was the reason to do it, and hat chasers were in it for the wrong reasons?

I do admit to having said that in the past... But opinions change. After seeing the effects of having no rewards, I feel that the previous system, even with its flaws, is better than what we are currently running. Even if they had extended the hours needed for a hat(maybe even to 5k) that would have been a much smarter move than just doing away with them altogether
I don't recall griefing a thread, perhaps ever... but that's a subjective viewpoint, so whatever.
1. Yeah, there are guilds currently running... But they're small and kinda dinky in comparison to years past. It will be hard to justify that, even with some guilds still playing, this dramatic drop in activity is okay.
2. Talked about that above.
3. They do, but that's gs... Single sparring receives nothing, no tournaments, no competition(I feel my previous example showed that rather nicely?). The lack of point is shown by the fact that the only people doing it are usually in the side rooms.
4. That's fine; the competitive side of the game requires the most management and improvement... It usually isn't too hard to get other parts of the games right.
5. I'm assuming you're referring to bug catching or looting... That would be welcome to me, both of those are legitimate activities, and should be rewarded outside of monetary rewards(I remember campaigning for "bug hat rewards" which would be given out after you had caught <X> number of a certain bug).
6. That's what we all want, I believe. I don't believe I've ever complained about uncompetitive aspects of gameplay(though I have complained about administrator experience... thoroughly discussed already). I am not unhappy with the system that you want... I am unhappy that we are approaching a calendar year without rewards for guilds to stride for. The gst is cool and all, but it's a single tournament rewarding 6 guilds or less... What about for less serious guilds? Currently there is nothing for us to do competitively.
Are we not in agreement that something should have been done to have avoided our current situation?
