Even if criminals keep their weapons well hidden we should still be banning the sale in order to prevent the majority of the population from attaining firearms therefore decreasing the chances of a school shooting as parents would not have firearms in which their children could bring to school(unless they are criminals)

In Canada owning firearms is legal however regulations are strict which could also be a good alternative for our southern neighbors
