To be fair the whole shield code thing itself is ugly and inefficient.
An out of game solution like Taylor Richaards could not possibly be better in terms of efficiency, surely having players close the game to go to a different app or website is a problem?
Obviously it is easy to point to a box farm in someones house and say it is ugly, but over time as people have gralats farmed in their codeshops they gain money to spend on nicer furniture to creatively decorate (hopefully). This should be more interesting to the player than an online database of codes.

It's alot more expensive but something we do for our guild is using statues to demonstrate the shield and then jump pads to equip them (have it make em say "setshield XXX)
