Fraps worked decent enough(and it's definitely the fastest). But it's fast because it records raw, meaning you'll need to use a video editor to save it in a format that's more web-ready. I remember using Windows Movie Maker for a while and it seemed decent enough for very basic stuff, but output quality was lacking(despite what people said, WMV format had the lowest file size and video quality was fine. Even using the suggested file outputs with much higher resolutions, comparing the final videos on youtube I could barely tell the difference. I still use the format, even with camtasia).
I think however Fraps only records the first 10 seconds in the trial version or something. Either way if you're looking for something decent either shelling cash or piracy is probably going to be something you'll have to do.
