Just because that is how extremists treat it, does not mean that is how the whole faith treats it. The qu'ran says nothing about death for apostasy. I have a feeling your whole view on Islam is based on everything you see on the tv.

I don't see what reddit or watching tv has to do with my views considering I don't bother with either of those.

What implies it, the qu'ran? I think you are strongly mistaken if you believe that. Old Islamic law may imply that death is the punishment, but the teachings of the qu'ran do not mention any punishment at all.

Ok, if you don't bother with either of those, it seems that both have had to have an effect on your attitude towards Islam, and religion in general. Based on your responses about Islam, you seem to have stereotyped all Muslims based on what the media portrays them as. Also, starting this thread is the typical "I'm an atheist, debate me" attitude seen on reddit.

Trying to get someone to prove their god is real is a horrible attitude. I'm sure you are young and ignorant when it comes to human psychology, but faith and spirituality plays an imporant role in people's lives. There are many great questions in life that can not be definitively answered by science, so some people turn to religion for some explenation.

The thing about Muslims and Islam is that they take every word of the Quran to be literal and its the only faith that is right as stated in their holy book. There is a close mindedness in Islam that goes further than Christianity, mostly because the Bible can be interpreted in so many different ways.

I never denied the psychology of it, I'm saying it's plain dumb that the only reason people believe in an imaginary figure is because they need an explanation. They can't accept the fact that they are being without a purpose or reason so they believe religion is the answer to everything, that is lazy in my opinion. Nothing is ever that simple as religion makes it out to be.

Like I said, you obviously don't know much about human psychology, or the purpose of religion in general. When you go to college, take some psychology courses along with a religion course so you can understand both sides of this arguement. I'm not going to say which side of the fence I am on, but it helps when you understand where both sides are coming from.

You say that science is right and bla blah blah.Think of this in the times of BCE there wasnt people recording science so they might have misswed whole part of what has happned to the universe and so on.My point is one thing miscaculated unknown science means the whole belief could be wrong.Science is a belief and so is christianity and other religions.In science you believe they are right but Can never actually backtrack to prove it.It might seem right to the society today but they might be missing information as i said before.

My opinion on this topic is that if your basing that the universe started with a big bang , well all a big bang was 2 atoms colliding and well creating this whole universe and its functions.Just those little things like animals being created , humans the cycle of plants and all other stuff like that makes me believe its not real.
