So just wondering if there are any car enthusiast that play the game  

Not so much cars, because that's a little too narrow. I enjoy engineering and design in general, but what I really like is mechanical innovation

That's cool, I considered going to school for engineering but schools just not for me. As a BMW tech I've come to appreciate a lot of the engineering involved in vehicles, even though sometimes I feel like the engineers purposely put a bolt in an almost impossible to reach place just to annoy us.

That's how they make money. They'll put a hidden bolt somewhere just to make people bring the cars to their dealerships. If the owner doesn't have the proper tools to get to the bolt, they have no other choice than to bring it to a shop, and it'll most likely be the dealership mechanics working on it.

I wouldn't say that bolt brings customers in, but I get what your saying. The new 5 series you HAVE to take to a dealer, you can't push the parking brake piston in using channel locks, you now have to hook it up to the BMW computer and actuate the motor to retract it so you can change the brake pads. I'm sure bmw will be implementing that method on ever new production vehicle seeing how bob or joes small shop can't do brake jobs anymore.

This is why I want to get my hands on some of those computers. It'll make everybody's life easier. To be honest, if you think about it, it all comes down to money. A huge mega company like GM doesn't give one sh*t about a small local shop. They'd rather keep the money for themselves, so they devise brilliant schemes to take the profits from said shop.  

Lol, as long as I stay busy I'll be happy. But seriously the places some screws are put in just makes no sense. There's no special tool that would make it easier to take out, so I really do think the engineers put it there on purpose to give us hard time.

I learned how to replace a tire just this summer. Good thing I was with someone who could or else I would've been 12 mi from any sort of civilization alone deep in Colorado wilderness shortly before nightfall. So yea, motor skills are a pretty good thing to have.

I taught myself how to take out the engine and transmission out of my first car at 15 just because I was bored. But yeah at the dealer I work for I see it all the time the bottom of the car is all messed up because the customer had no clue how to jack the car and place it on stands even when the most clear instructions are written in the owners manual with colored pictures.

Get AAA. It's only like 50 bucks per year and their roadside assistance is pretty good. I got a flat once and had to use it because I don't carry my spare tire (because racecar) and they towed my car home no charge nothing.
