Firefox: Attack of the Black Boxes
So... Lately I've been getting these black boxes appearing on my Firefox browser. Below are a couple examples of times it has occurred. I feel that the problem is connected with Adblock. A couple times the text "Block..." has appeared during the black boxes. I was wondering if anyone has any knowledge of how to fix this issue? Thanks. ![]()

I think I was wrong actually. I just removed Adblock and went back to the Yahoo homepage and a black box appeared. I did exit out of my browser after uninstalling it too. I really don't have that many addons. Unless a plugin is causing this? I do not fully understand what plugins are or how they activate. Right now the only active addon is Classic Toolbar buttons.

Reason: Forgot to add "do not". I'm a plug-in newbie.

Mmmmk, I see Adblock isn't on there... Are you seeing these boxes on any other applications? Did you try toying around with your pop-up blocker? If not I'm not entirely sure what the deal is here... |

My active extensions are Adblock Plus 2.6.6 and Classic Toolbar Buttons 1.4.3. I don't think the Adblock is the problem anymore though since there was a black box without it on my homepage. I'm trying to stay awake as I type this. |

Do the following:
If it's still doing it after this, then you can deduce that it's not the fault of an extension or a skin. It could be Firefox playing up when it comes to rendering things with hardware acceleration enabled, so try disabling hardware acceleration in Firefox and see if that makes a difference. As mentioned above, uninstall Firefox all together if you have to. Also, have you tried doing a quick Google? Take a read of these.

Well... The black boxes are fixed I think, but now my Firefox tab freezes on the Destiny website whenever it attempts to load a character model.

thats probably an issue with the website devs. Not the browser.

Correctamundo. It attempts to load the 3D model of the users' Destiny character, but the page freezes up. Before this happened, I had launched Firefox in safe mode and the boxes appeared to be gone. Then, it prompted up a message saying I was using an older version of Firefox so I updated and now this happened.
