Laptop help
hi, Looking to get a laptop, know nothing about computers, do not want a desktop. I need it primarily for work, I do a lot of photoediting/ graphic design but I also want something I can game on reliably. I am not looking to build my own. I am also looking for a laptop that has a fairly large screensize (it will basically be used as a desktop but I need to take it with me which is why I need it as a laptop) If any of you have suggestions on laptops I would appreciate it, I was previously looking at the alienware 18 last time I was interested in getting a laptop but a lot of people said it was unreliable in how long it will last. If anyone knows of anything similar that would be great (since that build has most of the things I was looking for, good ram, large screen, good processor etc) Thanks Forgot to add NO MACS!!! Found two I kinda like, fairly big price difference between the two, need help knowing why that is. From just comparing to me the only difference is one has 8gb of ram whilst the other 32. What am I missing? http://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/acer_...02/version.asp http://www.laptopsdirect.co.uk/asus-...3h/version.asp |

I have the Lenovo Y50, had it for over a year now and still have no trouble running the games I want. Only game I have had a problem with was Ark: Survival Evolved, but cuz it was in the beta im not sure if it was on my behalf or there's.

8gbs is fine with gaming these days. If I was to get a newer laptop especially for gaming it would have to be a MSI laptop. Most importantly something in the GT series for example. |

I got a laptop for about 300$ and I honestly can say it works great for games, can handle most on low and some on medium, if you want I'll link you it.

Well thanks for the feedback but I ended up getting my original choice. Have only had it for a few hours so far but i'm quite happy about it. Has a touchpad screen, fancy red LED keyboard. Specs are 16gb ram Intel i7 processor Nvidia gtx 860m graphics 1tb harddrive G-sync 17.3 inch screen And it's a G751 Asus ROG. The only downside to it, as all reviews agree is that it is fairly heavy for a laptop. You can still pick it up with one hand but it could get a little bit awkward if you are using it on your lap, and so is ideal for hard surfaces. I don't know much about computers, I feel like the specs it has are good apart from the 860 graphics card. I would assume the 950s are better but I don't plan on playing star citizen in ultra 4k resolution so I feel like 860 is more than enough. |
