I tend to prefer spar guilds, because I am most interested in spar. I don't mind taking towers once in a while, I just despise spending every waking moment I have playing on tower taking and defending. Plus, spar guilds aren't sparring 24/7. I really like being in US. When we want to spar, we spar. When we want to take a tower, we try for a tower. When we don't know what to do, we hang out or just have conversations over guild chat. What I'm suggesting is a more free guild, where you aren't told to do something or how to do it. You can be with friends, and still play the game how you would like to play it. Its all about having fun.
