So, inside of a thread, I believe posted off topic, Talon posted this video.
I can't say I like the word Brony at all, nor have I ever seen a My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic video, but after seeing this I must admit I'd like to.

I'm not the type that idolizes musical artists, TV series, or objects and join a fanbase for them..
But this video is about someone who talks about why he likes My Little Pony.
The video is a superb form of advertisement in my opinion... 47 minutes, if I remember correctly without flaws he explained why the storyline is good, what it is about, and why it isn't only for girls. Among other things..

I believe this is a great video, and should be taken under consideration before posting rude remarks on why My Little Pony is only for girls.

Anyway, without further adieu, since I believe a lot of fans won't step up due to them possibly being put down for creating the thread, I wanted to post this. I will start watching it one day... when I have time. Check it out.

I'm aware of these addictions and how it can affect someone lifestyle, I honestly think the most smartest choice for me is to not get involved in it.

MLP is no better than any of the other animated shows floating around at the moment, it only has such a large following because of what it is - a little girls show. People want to be unique and be a fan of such a show. Any other show could have picked up the large fanbase, but they were drawn to MLP because of the ridiculous notion of liking a little girls show.

There is nothing wrong with the show, but a lot wrong with the fandom. Words like "everypony" and "hooves" should not be used when referring to humans - ever.

I'm not hating on the show, and a glance at my signature and avatar should really prove that I'm in no position to, but Friendship is Magic lucked out entirely with it's incredible popularity.

I believe it was more on the ones who liked it, and the advertisement that came after, both due to the creators, and the fans. Apparently the creator listened to the audience too, or so I believe I read that is how a "derpy" pony was created... I dislike that word also. x.x; And my girlfriend uses it which only makes it worse. @.@;;

I love the subjects of law, business, economics, and psychology as well as philosophy... and seeing this as business by considering this video as a form of advertisement.. I honestly feel it was well put together, and amazing... His voice is enticing, his explanations seem logical, and his small jokes explaining how he has a problem pulls you in and helps you relate...

Like I said, it doesn't seem like his video has any flaws.. I've seen many tutorials by certain people who aren't all that charismatic as this guy. Usually people need to write down what they are going to say before hand... and even then videos may not sound all that great, or eat to keep into. He keeps this up for almost an hour. o.O

I haven't seen any My Little Pony videos, but since I've seen this, I'm definitely willing, when I have time.

Now that my reasons of why I believe My Little Pony became more popular than most... I'm going to stop returning explanations as to why others might feel it should not be. In respects of not ruining the direction of the thread.

Here is a picture I started August 15th 2011 when My Little Pony became popular on Graal Facebook. I wanted to create a pony representing a noob when I was bored... I never finished, but I'd still like to... One day.

Agreed, it isn't really that MLP is the best show out there, and that is 't why it gained its popularity. You are extremely correct in that sense... To be honest, I was first attracted to the show for those very reasons. Still, it is my favorite series today, and I have gotten more than an addiction to it. Rainbow Dash is my new waifu... Even more than that. (If anyone doesn't know what that means, UrbanDic it)

About the fandom, it has its up and downs. I agree, Equestrian terms like "anypony" and "hooves" should not be used to refer to humans, even though I had a stage of doing that for a while... The fandom has more than its fair share of amazing material; there are fantastic artists and writers who put out some great fanfictions and artwork.

The fandom is the one thing that I think makes me proud to be a brony. There's just something about the fandom that I can't really describe in words.

Yes, Lauren Faust (creator of the show) took notice of many of the fandom's 'fanon' concepts like Derpy and naming of interesting background ponies. They even gave Derpy, a fan-named and otherwise background pony, her own scene in an episode, where Rainbow Dash refers to her as Derpy. It got edited out when parents complained; there was a huge explosion of rage and disagreement in the fandom at the time. Faust even canonized the names of other background ponies that were named by the fans. She even made an music video exclusive for Equestria Daily to this one site, which shouted out the bronies.

The characters are fairly shallow, the animation is more or less flawless, my only complaint is the eyes, and the writing is lacking, but I suppose that's expected of a childrens show.The best part is easily the voice acting.

Won't comment on the fandom. I mean, you can produce good material, but if it's about little girls toys...
