Imagine the ultimate server. What do you think it would be like? Would every player have staff rights? Or all the land be icy? What if you could ride around on giant dragons, and the entire gmap was the sky? There are so many possibilities for Servers on Graal, from modern day fighters to peaceful communities that just want to talk. So, in this thread, we can describe our ideas of the Ultimate server, what it would include and how the community would be built.
(The following is put as a spoiler. It is actually just my idea for the perfect server, but it is VERY long, so If you don't want to read it, continue on and post your idea of the perfect server)
Spoiler
I guess for me the Ultimate server would be, well, for now lets call it Euthenia [named after a greek goddess, of course!]. The map would be split in two sections: Upper-Lands and Lower-Lands.
The Upper-Lands (also known as just the Uppers) would be covered in snow 24/7, and a good deal of it would be frozen over or water. Rimming the edges of the Uppers would be caves, filled with Crystals which you could mine and make into things such as armor, or trade in for money or valuables. In the middle would be a large city, named Aethoes. In this city, there would of course be the place to sell Crystals. Than there would be 2 small clubs, many houses, a hat shop or two, and what would be called the Mazarien.
The Mazarien is a very large maze. In the maze, not only would you have to navigate your way through it to the middle, there would be puzzles along the way. Riddles and Quests would have to be done, some include monsters or finding objects such as keys. Once you get to the middle (and believe me, it may take a while) you would get a large key. The key's usage shall be explained in the section about the Lowers.
Finally, at the very back of the Uppers there would be a small shop inside of an empty cave. It seems no one is there to run the shop, but if you explore, you can throw a bomb at one of the walls and there is a passageway. If you get through the passageway, at the end there is a shop that sells baby dragon eggs. The thing is, though, you don't pay Gralats for them. You have to do a quest for the shopkeeper, which is to go to the lowers and used the above-mentioned key to do a certain task [will be explain in the Lowers section] . Once doing the task, he gives you the Dragon egg, which you can raise. You can name it and It will fight for you and [rarely] dig up Gralats or items.
Now I will tell you about the Lowers. The lowers are grassy, and full of life. Baby animals run all over, and tress grow. Almost the entire Lowers is no-pk, unlike the Uppers. The lowers is a safe place for more relaxed players to talk and hang out with their friends, and just have a good time.
There are a few shops around, but most of the buildings are houses, barns, restaurants or Inns. To the side is a small pond, where you can swim and play with the duckies :D
Now to talk about the Dragon Egg quest. The shopkeeper has lost his wedding ring in the pond, and really needs it back! You have to dive under (after buying a scuba set so you can actually breathe) and explore. After a while of looking, you will find a note to the side of the pond. It reads Did anyone loose their ring? I found one. Come to the house with the red roof. I'll be waiting. You than proceed to find the house with the red roof, which is annoyingly hard because there are like 3 houses with red roofs, but 2 are empty. Once you find the right house, the man gives you the ring.... in exchange for the key! It was to unlock a chest he has, which of course has the ring in it. You than give it to the shopkeeper.. and boom, dragon egg!
Now the staff would work like this:
Manager same as the rest of the servers
Graphics same as the rest of the server
Sound Control (SC) Does SFX and makes sure all of it is up to date
Player Control (PC) Like Player Relations for Era, but they only deal with keeping the players happy, FAQing and making sure all the demands/ideas are handeled
Events Staff (ES) Controls and works with Events, also helps with Event Ideas and awards
Level Staff (LS) Designs and makes levels that have both appeal visually and logically
Weapons Staff (WS) Makes weapons
Quest Control (QC) Makes ideas and designs quests
Scripters Scripts everything, of course!
Assistant Helper (AH) Helps all the rest of the staff if they have any questions or need help , also help players in general

And thats all!
The Royal Family (Staff Team)
The staff team would represent a Royal Family. Well, not necessarily. The Royal Family would be similar to the Zanza Family on iClassic. The managers would be King, Queen, Prince or Princess and there would be requirements for other Royal Family members to join. They have access to some parts of the castle, but not all. And the general public has no access to the castle at all.
Next, we have Royal Ministers (the levels, scripting and graphics team). This is how it works. You submit an application for:
LAT (Levels Administration Team)
GAT (Graphics Administration Team)
NAT (NPC Scripting Administration Team)
The players then vote for 3 people from each group of applicants. The 3 highest from each group will be presented at an assembly before the Royal Family members. in this assembly, the members of the Royal Family then cast their votes for only 1 of the 3 from each group. There are a total of 9 potential staff members. After the numbers are counted, the final 3 (1 from each group on the team) will be chosen for Royal Ministers. Graphics, levels and scripting ministers, that is.
A celebration, speeches, etc will happen after this. New elections every month. Also, if you're an application, you can advertise/promote or campaign yourself on bulletins through the kingdom or make public speeches to explain what you want to do with Graal.
New Players
When you first begin, you are enlisted in the "Surrender Academy of Basic Skills". You choose what you want to be out of a 3 potential titles. Titles are like jobs. For instance, hunter, farmer or fisher. You are then presented with a tutorial about Graal and your chosen title. After you complete the tutorials successfully, you are given the title, kind of like a name tag. it would look like this:
[Fisher] KatGoesRawr
Your title is like a uniform or a position. For instance, police officers wear uniforms and badges and are entitled to make arrests upon providing factual evidence of a crime. Well, same in Graal. this title allows you to do specific quests, unlock specific shops and methods of money-making, etc. For instance, only fishers can fish, only farmers can farm, only hunters can hunt. You can go back to the academy at anytime to get another one of the starter titles. You can have as many titles as you want and switch between them.
You can be on the hunter title and hunt, then switch to the fishing title and fish. Every title has it's own quests, exclusive areas and ways to make money. Also, guilds are separated by titles as well. When you create a guild, you have to choose it's title, and only people with that title can join. You can have more than 1 guild at a time. And be in more than one guild too. When you're not on tag, you can still get messages by viewing the history when switching tags. So here's an example:
[Farmer] KatGoesRawr (Chain of Farmers) Lol, i had to use the CoM reference.
Experience, Strength And Health
You have these different bars, just like your health bar on iEra. For instance, if you maintain good health, you can enrol yourself in the academy to obtain the title of nurse or doctor. Your health goes down as you play, making you weak, slower and ill. You get warped to the hospital when you die, but can buy medicine to stop you from spewing at the hospital. Like Era, when you die without a potion, you have to stay in bed until you get your bar up to 50 again. Except this will be required, and not an option.
Your experience unlocks new quests. As you become more professional, NPCs will request your assistance. You complete the tasks, unlock exclusive doors, gain experience to unlock more quests, etc.
Strength. Just like health, strength slows you down. You get more strength by eating food, resting, working, etc. It declines as you play, but once you reach a certain goal, you have more strength so it declines slower.
These bars are similar to achievements in Call of Duty. But once you reach a goal, you are entitled to exclusive areas, etc. Such as hunting a certain amount of animals, fishing a certain amount of fish or a certain type of fish, etc.
Business Packages
You can purchase businesses, but they also have requirements. The shops are all pre-made, you just choose which shop you want to start. You need to pay a sum of money, choose a vacant building or have one made at the real estate building by choosing from templates. You may be required a certain amount of experience, health or strength to start the business.
These businesses would work just like the pizza job in iEra. You make money from selling the items, as well as from creating them in the back.
Example
here is a short example of all this as if it were graal classic for iphone. you start at the school, get the title of farmer, farm $1,000, gain experience, an NPC requests your experience to farm him some vegetables in SwampTown. You go there to plant them, but you are killed, warped to the hospital. You stay there for a minute to gain your health back in the bed. You then decide to buy medicine so you don't get warped. You head back to SwampTown, someone asks you to join their farming guild so you can help each other and just be friends. Your name now reads [Farmer] KatGoesRawr (The Farmers Guild). You report to the shopkeeper with the vegetables and receive exclusive access to his shop in the back, which provides food that increase your health more than other foods would.
Az and NYN, Lykke and CoCo (Kings and Queens) recruit for the Royal Family guilds. These players have access to the castle, but the public do not. The kings and queens have access to everything in the castle, the recruited members only have limited access. They hold an election. A bunch of people submit, we vote for our 3 favourite GATs, LATs and NATs. They go before Az, NYN, Coco and Lykke, along with the other members of the Royal Family. They cast their own votes, and the final 3 are chosen. Next month, new staff will be chosen. Speeches are made to address the public of what they want to change/do.
NOTE: Your title is like the zone, fan and grotto that require hours, right? well this is how titles work. certain quests require certain titles. certain areas require certain quests to complete, etc. so here's an example:
Grotto. Requirement: Dragon Slayer Quest. would have a quest inside perhaps and a shop for when you complete the quest. So as you play, you grow your character, unlock stuff and just climb the ladder as you go along. Hope this wasn't too long to read...

This was actually a really cool idea [I read through it all]
But what about PR/GP type of staff? Who helps with the players/bannings?
This was actually a really cool idea [I read through it all]
But what about PR/GP type of staff? Who helps with the players/bannings?
I tried rewriting this several times and eventually it came down to me just posting what I had, sorry lol. But yeah, GPs are just chosen players by the Royal Ministry that can do a good job with looking out for hacks, glitches, etc. Basically they can't jail or ban. The player is sent to the castle prison where they spend half of their punishment awaiting trial. When the Royal Ministry takes them to court for say, a glitch, they are asked questions regarding the glitch, how they heard about it, etc. Just so they can use this information for fixing/patching it. If it deserves the full punishment, they go back to the castle prison/dungeon. If not, they are freed and given money for their time spent awaiting trial. It's realistic is my goal. But theres no waiting period if a Royal Minister is online. They can take them to prison immediately. I just wanted to give a people a chance to have an alibi, for those times when you get banned simply for being in a laggy area and they just send you to jail to get rid of you all. Would be a good way to testify what happened and get out of a punishment. Sorry, I'm a REALLY long writer...
Lol ill simplify it. Just take out the hour requirements in iClassic and replace it with title requirements which you get from quests. But also have more than just the...4? Hour/requirement areas.
Also, with farming in iClassic, you make an investment on bombs assuming you will get back more than you paid for the bombs. Except in this server, you are investing by playing quests to obtain the ability to make money different ways.
Maybe the health/experience/length bar is a little advanced or unnecessary. Most of my posts at general until I think of ways to improved. I just saw the Classic PC room that said "you are not strong enough to enter this building" and that's where i got th strength bar idea from. Also on iClassic, NYNs dragon shop with the door guarded by a wizard that dyad "theres too much energy in here, I cannot let you in". Thats where I got the experience idea from. When I first found that room, I assumed you needed to know some kind of password or magic spell to enter, which I also assumed you would gain throughout the game. Boy was I wrong.
