Dubstep is seriously difficult to make. I don't think anyone understands that the software doesn't actually do the work for you.

No, i refuse to acknowledge dubstep as part of techno. Why? Because techno music requires ski ll to make. Dusbstep doesnt, how can i say this. Well... Everysong ever now has a "dubbed" version because of some kid with a low grade synthesiser.

Dubstep is part of EDM like techno is. One could argue that techno is even more simple because of its relatively basic sound composition.

I think Daft Punk isn't defined to a single genre of EDM. But yeah, I guess French House.

They aren't really "synthpop", but the samples they incorporate into their work are 70's , 80's "synthpop" songs usually.

Yes you can, they're house. Any given song will have a house BPM and be a variation of the many house sub-genres. From what I've heard there's influences from electro-house, a little bit of that electro-punk flare, and a sprinkle of glitch inspiration in the vocalizations. In general it's just house though. If I had to be picky I'd put them down as French electro-house, because it seems like there's some tecktonik, which is a gay French Electro-Dance genre. When I say gay I really mean it, I probably hate tecktonik dancing more than jumpstyle (which almost looks just as ******ed).

For those that don't know, this is tecktonik:

Please hand me a shotgun. Luckily Daft Punk isn't tecktonik, as you can hear from the BPM Daft Punk is slightly slower, it uses a more standard house BPM.
