Okay, so one of my PS3's got a YLoD today or something like that. figured since some of you are actually gamers (I only play CoD) then maybe you could help me with the problem. It's a 40GB PS3, one of the very old ones. Anyone know how i can fix?  

if it doesn't turn on, you might need to put it into safe mode and run through the optains provided, jsut google safe mode

It's a YLOD error, not corruption.

This actually seems to be a motherboard error, look here:

 

My brother-in-law had the same issue. You can google the hell out of it though and probably get better responses since it's not exactly an uncommon thing.  

Kick it angrily yelling "you horrible example of planned obsolescence!"

Works on all electronics.

That'll cause more harm to the system than it will help in the long run. It's a temporary fix at most.

Also, I believe that's only for RRoD Xboxes that have overheated.
