Internet Bubble
Saw this in my College class today It is honestly scary that the internet automatically files out information just based on what you click. It takes away different viewpoints that may broaden your view of a topic and is evedently leading us all to be single minded people. Also, considering most of us get the news from the internet, it practically doesn't even give you the full story. Google, Facebook, Yahoo, etc have all embeded codes that censor out certain things when you search for things baised on your previous searches or chooses not to show certain friends on your news feed depending on who you click more often. This raises a flag in my head, because I know most of you are young and don't care all that much for real world news repots and real world issues, so that leads you not to click on that stuff and eventually Google, etc, filter it out completly. So what happens when you do hit the age where you start voting and taking political intrest? It's just scary IMO. What's yours after watching this vid? |

I agree. I am always bothered by censorship, It kinda freaks me out knowing that there is important or maybe not so important information out there that someone isn't letting me see, or worse, not letting me see all of. To make it worse it is a machine doing this, and that it's happening right now and I can't fix it.

Yeah. I really wish google would take off the "recommended for you" section of YouTube. No one wants it. It's a joke. But they keep shoving it down our throats.
