Luger isn't overpowered in my eyes, It does 10 damage yes but the speed isn't that great and the freeze is still a pain in the ass I tried it on my friends account and it isn't op lol |

In regards to freeze, no, not in this day in age. The lowest freeze I consider acceptable is 0.20, the freeze of a Tec9. In an ideal world, I would say 0.22(The Freeze of an MP40), but the spamming guns like the Souizen, Guns with high fire rates(without a balanced freeze, like the Sten), and high damage(Without a balanced fire rate/freeze, such as the BAR) have forced me to slightly lower my standards. Any gun with a freeze lower than 0.20 doesn’t provide enough of a repercussion for firing a bullet to showcase any level of skill. The only instance I would consider a gun to have lower freeze would be if it suffered in the damage department. (Such as the uzi) In regards to fire rate, yes—By my standards, Tec9’s got too high of a fire rate for its freeze. But I chose not to utilize its fire rate. Back in 2004 we couldn’t spam our guns, and when we did spam the fire button, there was a reasonable freeze(about that of a MP40) that made spamming less effective. In addition, there was about a 0.15 freeze upon being hit by a bullet, so your spamming was further stunted. You really needed to time your shots back then—it required much more skill than it does now. On my side, nothing’s changed—I still act like my guns have a reasonable fire rate. I’ve noticed that whenever I spar somebody, they generally fire off 3-6 bullets for every 1 bullet I fire off.
Nerfing expensive guns are more sensitive because when they were released, somebody had the notion that this game is supposed to be Pay-to-win. “Instead of acquiring skill through years of practice, just give us some cash—we’ll take care of you”. I don’t believe in this notion. I can’t think of a fathomable excuse for somebody to beat a more skilled player just because they’ve got money to blow. A gun being unique or expensive is no excuse for it to be overpowered. We had unique items back in the day, too. And they were pricy—but not because they were overpowered. People bought them because they were a status symbol. It didn’t do ridiculous amounts of damage, it didn’t shoot faster than the average gun, it was just cool to have, and was unique in it’s own special way; as all guns were. It was in the same league as a gun that was half its price. People respected PK skill enough back then that the notion that it should be “more powerful” wasn’t even brought up. Nowadays people have a very narrow view on how one gun is supposed to vary from another. If a gun is released, people expect it to be stronger than its predecessors--either by freeze, fire rate, or damage-- Else they won’t buy it. When this continues for years on end, before long, you’ll have guns much worse than the BAR, the current “best gun” will go down in price, and eventually people will adopt the mindset that new guns are just cool to have(like I said above), and there will be little varying one gun from another. This is the primary reason I’m wanting to nerf guns. I’ve seen this trend on PC Era- It ruined PKing, and destroyed gun variability. Nobody releases guns based on checks and balances anymore on there—It’s just one more powerful gun after another. My goal in nerfing guns is to bring things back to a time where the slightest variable change made a large difference on a gun. People back then were more appreciative of a gun with a large clip, a slower reload freeze, variable bullet spread, faster rate of fire(even though the freeze was generally higher, people still appreciated it because it enabled a new style of play), even the graphic played a large role in its stats—the bullet being positioned at the barrel of longer guns enabled it to shoot over walls was a selling point, aswell as close-range barrels. People nowadays just look at a gun’s speed and damage. Zzz. Ggnore. As I stated above, this will get old, and fast. |

there needs to be a 8 damage version of tec9 with less spread ofcourse, the closest to that is ap7 BUT it has no spread, low clip, and the reload is so slow >:/

8 Damage, Same freeze as Tec9, close to the spread, 4 more clip. The only thing it lacks is fire rate, which was drawn back because of the benefits listed above in bold. |

Why would you nerf guns such as souizen and bar? Those guns are supposed to top the rest, this is why I play PC more.

What meph said x100. I played pc era years before iera. I understand what he's saying. I don't know why but last week there was an idiotic rearranging of stats and prices on pc, the highest guns because bad. Some of the worst are now good. And prices swapped. I think changing many guns stats at once isn't fair or the right way to go. Suddenly someone who paid 800-1000k for a gun now has a 200k piece of trash. People who stockpiled cheap guns are millionaires. Whatever things change. But on iEra there is no respect for pk, and rarely for spar. People just came on thinking "hey I'm gonna be good at this and rub it in the face of anyone I beat" and that's how a lot of gangs and sparrers function. What happened to honor people? There is no shame or honor in pking anymore. People will go to any great lengths to preserve a streak. They'll cause lag, log off, go to their house, do whatever it takes to avoid one tiny death. And if someone kills YOU, chances are they'll make a deal of it. If you kill them, there's no congratulations. It's just them cursing and calling you a noob. All people do is make excuses for why they died. Get over it. I'm glad we got someone who understands pking and values the old morals as a gun admin. I just wish they'd add the "pk tag" thing to iera so you can be damaged even if you go into a nopk zone for 5 seconds. And not the system they have now which only works in half the non pk zones. There are a few areas that are 100% guaranteed to save you if you're running from a pker and they really aren't fair. |

@meph So basically you think all the guns should be "equal",but slightly different so that what makes people use ex:m4 and not MT is just the style, and not the price or just the "stats" If that is what you mean,I 100% understand and like the idea. |
