I don't understand why people think it is fun (or relevant) to hate on him. It is always on Facebook, it's on every single YouTube video's comments. In fact, it is pretty much everywhere online and I just don't get it.

I've seen a few times that he's been interviewed and he does seem to have an annoying arrogance about himself, but that doesn't affect me in the slightest. It certainly doesn't come into my head when I'm looking up Final Fantasy VII videos, so why is he mentioned?! His song that is brought up the most is 'Baby' and that came out in 2010. It's a catchy tune, but I can see why it isn't for everyone (lol) ..but that was nearly three years ago. His hair is also a popular topic, but he hasn't had that hairstyle for years now either. In fact, he's a good looking chap, and I don't see where people think he looks like a girl because he doesn't. He might be a manufactured pop act, but so is everyone else in the charts.

So... someone please give me a valid reason for this crap. I am more annoyed by the people obsessing over hating him than I am by him. I can turn off his songs, but I can't hide the comments that are posted everywhere.

Cause haters gonna hate that's why.  

He looked like a girl with his old haircut and his voice was annoyingly high pitched (pre-puberty) so that is where that came from. I even know people that heard the song and thought the artist was a girl just by the voice.
Plus, men make fun of any guy that is attracting a lot of female attention to attempt to drive attention off of him and onto them.

Howver, I do enjoy his current music as it isn't so high pitched anymore. As long as you love me is one of my favorite tunes by him.  

I dislike him.

I dislike lots of music, but it doesn't mean i immediately discredit the artist. I don't think it's fair to hate someone because you don't like his music, which is what Rufus' original post is about.  

he represents the incarnate of a goody goody two shoes, his voice is slightly feminine, and his song baby is well, pathetic, same thing over and over and over with no real meaning, he is just a shallow arrogant guy, that to lots of people has horrible music, that gets tons of girls that go crazy over him, it makes people jealous and angry, that this guy can sing some horrible lines over and over with fancy recording stuff, and get tons of hits and tons of young teen girls, when usually young teen -young adult guys are the majority on the internet places like 4 chan and youtube and forums.

overall he snowballed into a sort of meme of symbolizing that one guy that is hated by everyone, same with the whole rebecca black, horrible songs, horrible video, trying to make money off of it, actually getting famous because of it, other than that there isnt a lot of reasons to hate her like that, but people did.

same with nikki minaj, rip off, obscene nonsensical horrible "lyrics", for Galens sake, one of her songs was "you a stupid ho", she is a despicable idiotic pop singer who has little artistic talent, that is a ridiculous rip off who's songs arent even really songs, its nonsense filled with obscenities. her lower ass gets as much air time as her face.

look at some of the long gone artists with real lyrics that mean something and are famous, and actually tell something. thats why they didnt get treated as bad as this.  

Could you imagine if Justin Bieber and Rebecca Black had a kid?  

It would be an omen...

When he first began I didn't like him, well I did. But once all the girls started going on and on and on about him everywhere I started disliking him. However now i'm starting to like him a lot his new album Believe which my favorites are : All around the world, boyfriend, As long as you love me, Right here, and Beauty and a beat. (His look-changed a lot new hair-do , O and his dance moves are impressive! )  

People like to jump on the bandwagon.

This. I really think he (might) be a cool guy irl, it's just his music blows and panders to attention-seeking 10-14 year olds.  

1:10 is the main reason why. Remember, he doesn't know these people at all.
Also just to note, the increasing uniformity in pop music is making the music industry over all less and less talented. Justin Bieber isn't an exception considering how "Safe" and soulless his music usually is. People get pretty frustrated about this. Its sort of similar to the whole twilight brigade. Jealousy could also be a factor to some extent for some considering girls are focusing their attention on someone else.
