15 * 7 = 105 105/15 = 7 Therefore k = 105 |

Did they not teach inverse operations or were you not paying attention? O.o

I wasn't paying attention, thats what they're teaching now. And I don't know it for balls. So they want me doing some stuff like: 7/15=k/15/15 or something... Can you guys teach me it?
as in I am ******ed. Also, I'm in 7th |

It's simple, to solve for x(or any variable) you must do the opposite of what is being done, thus inverse operations. In your case k is being divided, so the inverse would be multiplication. However it does get much more complicated as the equations add more variables and operations. Seriously dude, pay attention. Everything you do in future courses with the slightest bit of math are going to require this basic set of skills. Math is a progressive skillset, and if you skimp out at the basics you'll only make it so much harder on yourself as you progress in high school. Honestly this is probably not a great learning environment, or at least it's a redundant one. There are lots of sites purely dedicated to teaching students this sort of thing, and even communities for it. This is the first google result I found: http://tutoring.sylvanlearning.com/n.../0704/math.cfm http://www.wtamu.edu/academic/anns/m...b/beg_algebra/ |

It's fairly easy. I did it years ago. So when you get an equation like this: 7+x=13 You'd subtract 7 from both sides of the equation. 7+x=13 -7 -7 _______ x=6 The reason you're subtracting 7 from both sides is because 7 is positive. You subtract from both sides because it balances it out from the equation. Let's try multiplication. 7*x=42 You have to divide 7, because it's multiplication. You always do the opposite to balance it out. 7*x=42 /7 /7 ______ x=6 Fairly simple. Ask me anything. Ironically enough, x is the same for both equations o.o |

I'm guessing you're under 12 years old. If you saw calculus and things like derivatives your head would explode xD.

I'm learning, in math, Standard Form for line equations. I'm bored out of my mind. We just finished Slope Intercept, Point Slope Form, and Function Notations. I should be in a higher math class. |

My problem with math you do in class is it's less about problem solving/knowledge and more about teachers trying to trick you with tricky equations and ****. I can't remember how many questions/tests I got marked with wrong answers because most teachers like to "test" you by purposefully writing an equation/question that is more of a trick question than a test of your knowledge. ****ing math teachers. |

Quick Question: The equation doesn't define y. Is it 0? Here's the equation. All I need is information to find y. Identify m, b, and then graph the equation x=-2 m=_______ b=________ |
