Same sex marriage is fine. Marriage is a legal bond between two people. I personally don't see the issue of allowing people to marry. The only thing I can think about that might effect my country is taxes. I heard from someone a while back that married people in general are considered "one" financially and get breaks. With gay marriage legalized, those tax breaks would be huge, deminishing a large number of dollars coming in from taking single people. I don't care about the perks of marriage, nor do I hold a negative outlook.

Now morally, I am against the concept. However, living in one of many free societies on this planet, I can't think of one reason why I'd be "against" it. Marriage should be available to all people, same sex or not. It's discriminating to try and stop people. I can't stand some of these politicians who don't get the idea of a separation of church and state.

For the good of the state these politicians should realize that in a free society, anyone can choose athiesm and should have the right to. Do I like it? No. Am I going to ban atheism from law? No. Same sex marriage is on the same level. It's not a religious topic, yet all these people make it one. Marriage should be offered to all people, not just people of "religiously correct" orientations. It's a legal bond that people use to express their love for each other. Who are you or I to tell anyone who to love?

The issue of having two same sex parents is also ridiculous. It's a matter of "different" that mainstream people have a problem with. Yes, children coming from these households have a strong possibility of being bullied. It's something young people (and people who raise people) just can understand or cope with. It's the same type of issue with old school nerds and misfits in general. Now days they are being assimilated into the norm. I believe people with same sex parents will also be assimilated, but as messed up as it is, society will still be cruel.

So, I believe same sex households are fine too. It's society that has the problem. Kids will pick on kids and treat them like crap just for being different in any way. Sadly, that's grade school. Do I agree with it? No, not at all.

As I've heard and said a million times before. God made Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve. Sure they should have the right to marry freely, but I'm not on the same sex marriage side of this argument.

That's so funny. God forbid its something important. This generation is so damn lazy, I can't even get my head around it. What if there was a long federal bill saying in a long explanation "say yes to give up all your personal freedoms."

We have to respect everyone's religions, Christians shouldn't force their ideals onto others.

The Bible said that God made Lucifer, the perfect and most powerful archangel above all other angels. He became known as the devil for rebelling against God for wanting to be worshipped and praised before God which led to him being cast out. Common misconception people tend to believe.

Back on subject; socially and politically any recognized practice/belief/way of life should be allowed freedom so long as it does not violate any established law in any way. You'd be surprised what kind of crazy cults, organizations, clichés and so forth you'd find are allowed and recognized in society today. It would be very hypocritical to be known as a nation state of Democracy and deny others their freedoms.

Morally, I am against the idea of homosexuals marrying. I am a Christian, it's what I've been raised to believe and do believe myself so do please respect that. A concern being if they were granted access of marriage is they would not be permitted to marry in most churches. Which is to be expected of course, because for Christians (well in Catholicism at least) marriage is a sacrament. You wouldn't see a Jewish man inside a Hindu temple receiving any of their Sacraments unless they were going through a conversion process. I'm not saying they wouldn't be allowed inside to listen or anything, but unable from participation in any of the rites. They could protest all they want but bottom line is if the beliefs don't match up, they best find another place to get married. I think some courts do some 'legal marriages'.

Back on the whole social and political spectrum, there are many crazy things out there that have rights that we probably don't even know about. Homosexuals are probably no different in should having rights like everyone else. There isn't anything in the constitution restricting marriage or any certain belief on anyone. Therefore, socially and politically they should be given a chance for marriage.

I'm neutral on the whole issue. Mainly because of my moral beliefs don't line up with the idea. But from a democratic perspective it's a right to liberty that people should have. Nonetheless I wouldn't mind if it was or wasn't passed. What annoys me though is that it's been nearly a century and a half and we're still having major Civil Rights issues. Progress needs to happen sooner or later. Whether it passes or not, I know I'm not planning on getting a same sex marriage anytime soon.

For instance, are Christians against incest? If so, then why in Noah's arc was everyone except Noah's family and two of every animal killed? Doesn't that mean we are all related and doing the incest when we do the dirties? There is more, but arguing about religion is stupid and redundant imo.  

Actually yes, we are all related. Even genetics proves that. It's just so far off to a point where it doesn't even matter anymore. Also Noah was Jewish. Christianity wasn't around at that time.  

I know alot of people who actually have step moms AND step dads.

Yes, but frankly, a view from the law has no religion tied to it. Even your religion should have no right when talking about legal marriage. They shouldn't have a chance, but a certainty. I'm just fed up with the fact that people in power can't step back from their high religious horse and see that if people want to "sin" it isn't up to the law or our religious brothers to deny rights. If anything, its disrespectful to those who don't believe in that as a sin. There is more to life than religion and I guarantee that a handful of those people are hypocrites, sinning themselves. I'm not saying gay marriage is a sin, just that people view it as such and try to get in the way of people having certain rights. It's wrong.
