I really like Monkeys ideas about the friends list interface changes and his other ideas but I just wanted to add on. Why not have the main view adjustable like have the action d-pad on the opposite side of the screen this could be more beneficial to some players or have your item button lower down on the screen a changeable interface could help some new players learn to better play the game.
