This tower hat system should be removed ASAP. If taken out Staff must be firm with their intention to NOT bring it back.  

Why exactly is setting a goal for yourself so bad?  

Getting to 1k is an achievement, and people do deserve some recognition for it. But doing it solely for the hat is corrupting the system. I was completely satisfied with having my guilds name on the scoreboard. It was reward enough. Alot of people may not understand this if you dont do alot of towering, which is to me the best aspect of classic. I thought it would be cool, (back around time when my guild was #14 ) to have a tower that only the top 20, 50, or 100 guilds could enter. Idk i it would work out so well now though..  

I still don't see why trying to get a hat is "corrupting the system"  

Because people only want hats, they will join any guild close to 1k just to get a hat and most people who are joining guilds this way are complete noobs, and dont know the first thing about taking towers. Its so hard to find willing people, who will drop what they are doing and attack a tower. Point is they want hats but arent willing to work for them because they dont like taking towers. again if you dont tower alot it can be hard to understand it.  

Scenario:

Tower Guild A gets to 1k for the sake of towering and receives a hat.
Tower Guild B gets to 1k with the goal of a hat, and they receive a hat.

???

I've been in multiple major tower guilds, but I honestly don't see why any other tower guild should care if a guild gets to 1k for a hat.  

i think the biggest problem is loyalty... thats a huge part of a good guild. unless you just nub rec >.>
