Several Sparring Tips + Ask Me Anything
Made a website some months ago and just slipped it in my signature for anyone to stumble across. I enjoy sparring and have for many years, doubt I'd play Graal without it. I also enjoy helping people and see others improve. I plan to stop sparring for a period of time soon to try and see what I can do with towers, but can still pay attention to this thread. I've never really sparred on an iDevice so from a technique standpoint, I can't help you too much. Sorry, it just never really interested me. Either way, lots of sparring-related advice is not device-specific. A lot of the advice you'll see here is specific to PC players though. Here are some of the most significant and useful links on the site:
The website itself doesn't have too much content but it's a lot of stuff that I hate having to retype so I just put it out there. I'll update it as regularly as I am inspired to. If you want to ask questions about sparring-related stuff, just do that here and I will reply. Sparring isn't exactly rocket science so I'm sure it won't get too analytic. If you want me to tell you how you can improve, the best way for me to do that is if you'd record yourself sparring a few times and post the video here. |

For the visual learners, like myself, can pictures be added to the "Techniques & Styles" section? A simple spar room picture with arrows directing the movement will do just fine. & nice spar guide +Rep

Somewhat off topic but I think I once purchased a brand of ham named Thallen. On the picture it had a mountain man with a beard, smiling. Are you a mountain man by chance?

I tried and fell way short. I started that at 9000-981 and (obviously) had to spar pretty selectively to end up at 9728-999. I'm fairly relieved though, because it was exhausting and not as much fun as queuing up with no worries. It's not something I'm disappointed over, because I set that bar stupidly high for myself. Along the way, I also tried to be the first to hit 9000 points but choked and lost at 8998.
The most important thing to take from that page is probably the bit about directional weaknesses and sword ranges. There are currently several people around the Battle Arena who have come up with the rumor that I use a "longer sword mod" which somehow increases the length of my sword (which is completely impossible within the limits of Graal, unless I coded some sort of weapon injector and added this NPC to myself, somehow). When you get comfortable and learn the angles and strengths per direction, it's a pretty big advantage. |
