Spar Gralats
Make something like, when you spar someone, and win, make it so you get a bit of gralats, or some reward

I agree, but put diminishing returns on it to avoid boosting.

I'd support this twice as much if you'd lose gralats for losing, but that'd never happen.

It sounds good, but it would encourage boosting sadly, so probably wont happen.

How about you earn more if you repeatedly spar different people every time to prevent boosting, and if you spar the same person twice your streak ends and the reward multiplier resets for both people. And also you could give weapons tiers, and the less the difference between tiers of weapon, the more you earn. Tiers would be based on damage, price, mobility, and weapon type/class. Thatd inspire more balanced fights, making OP weapons less of a pain. |

Hm, this idea has some potential but I have some questions/problems with it. It was mentioned before but there is an idea that it would encourage boosting. I guess, to decrease the temptation of boosting we could make it so that you get a full prize for the first person you spar and as you continuously spar them the amount decreases. Also, we can rig so if two people from the same IP or if both challengers have been on the same IP before it could send out an alert to a GP to verify that the accounts belong to separate people within a certain amount of time (sparring will still go on for others in the queue) but after about 2 minutes, their spar will start but will not have any prize after. Also, what would be a fair gralat reward for winning a match. A spar match generally lasts about 2 minutes at most which there is a winner and loser so for two minutes of your time, there shouldn't be too high of a reward (Events are different in this case so don't bring it up.) I actually like the idea of if a player loses a spar they lose that amount of gralats to the winner, but I do not like the idea at the same time because if a player loses a spar, they will cry and spam the report system. (putting it bluntly) Also it would be a risk which we would have to also add more advanced systems to sparring to calculate a player's lag every second which the Graal Gserver isn't 100% perfect with code. My best idea for a solution for this problem would be to have a "spar token" system setup which a player could buy tokens, then use them to spar (to prevent extra gralats from being lost than expected) which the winner would gain a token which if the system expects any fowl play it could cancel the match. (or something like that) I like the idea which it would add some more use to the spar complex. Ill keep an eye on the thread and see where it goes which I might ask for Tashkin and Matt's opinion in our free time and maybe post that. |

And what about new players that want to get into sparring but are scared to start because they are not necessarily good and cannot get good because they will most likely lose their money if they lose the spar? It just seems like a way to alienate new players again.

Hmm, how about to counter this, you could have two seperate single spar rooms, one friendly (still affects your w/l ratio), and one for gralats? There could also be a sign or a popup saying something along the lines of 'If you're new to sparring, we recommend you spar in the friendly spar room!' Or there could be a system where new players need to wait 24 hours of playtime before they are allowed to spar, this cuts down on boosting and cuts out the new player issue all together tbh. |

What would making a new person wait 24h in terms of them getting better achieve? They still won't have experience so will most likely lose no matter how long they are forced to wait. Also with the first idea, I think people would be more inclined to go to the friendly room than the one that makes you bet tbh. |
