False Stat Resets
I'm making a post here cause I don't think I'll get a response to me emails and I want to address an issue I had in the spar room. I started sparring a couple weeks ago, but I've quickly gotten hooked by it and have sparred pretty much non-stop since I joined. Practically my entire 70 online hours so far have been spent sparring. If you spar regularly you've probably seen me or sparred against me, my character's the water guy with a brown hat and a red, blue, and white stripped suit named Tunder. In those couple of weeks I racked up a lot of games, about 1150 wins and about 450 losses, so slightly less than a 3:1 ratio. This is after an initial stat reset after my first few days. Well my amount of wins really bothered one player in particular -- iMask. Every time I would see him he would spam me with pms accusing me of boosting, and would also just act all around toxic and trollish, basically trying everything he could to annoy me. Eventually iMask reported me with supposed "evidence" of my boosting which consisted of nothing more than the fact that I only had 69 online hours and nearly 1600 spars played. His claim was that I must have either caused my opponents to DC somehow, or I got a friend to intentionally lose to me over and over to rack up wins. Neither claim is true, however -- the truth is I just really enjoy sparring, and have been sparring practically non-stop. I got a 24 hour ban and had my wins reset. I tried to appeal my ban, but whoever banned me claimed I had "too many wins from disconnects" and that I also won to many matches too quickly, and that wins that fast can't be legitimate. They also claimed that I won too many matches against the same person in a row. I sent a pretty long email defending my stats and explaining how they were legitimate, but have yet to get a proper response, so I'd like to just explain a few things here so that iMask can't just get whoever who wants banned in the future due to a lack of understanding. 1) Regarding wins from disconnects - These happen often and are practically unavoidable if you spar frequently. They occur when your opponent either dcs or leaves the game, and they also occur when someone leaves the room when they are up next to spar. If I had to guess, I'd say at least 1 in 10 matches results in an auto-win from a disconnect. With as many matches as I had, I would expect there to be many from disconnecting. I have no clue how to cause my opponents to dc and I wouldn't want to. 2) Regarding quick or easy wins - When I log into iZone, I'm doing so to spar. I spar whoever is in the spar room at the time. Usually there is only a few people there, and very often its just me and one other person. Odds are that I'm going to win if the person is less experienced than me, but I don't spar them back to back to boost my score. A lot of time's I'm practicing a specific technique, or even sparring because whoever I'm up against asks me to for practice. Not always, but most of the time, I'll use the ER beemer if I know I am much mire experienced than them in an attempt to even the playing field. Even so, it doesn't take more than 20-30 seconds to beat someone at spar if they aren't as good as you, and if theres only a few players in the room that can add up to 50-100+ wins in an hour. I would say, on average, I played about 25-30 matches an hour, about 2/3 of which I won and 1/3 of which I lost. These numbers aren't unreasonable, thats just what happens when you only play Zone for spar, and you have a couple weeks where you can play a lot. And nearly as often as I would spar non-stop against players who typically lose to me, I would spar against players who almost always beat me. I never avoided sparring the best players, but I also never left the game just because one of them wasn't playing at the time. 3) Regarding my score and the likelihood of me boosting - After my ban ran out and I got back online, I talked to at least 8 other regular sparrers who were just as shocked as me to see that I was banned. Anyone who has actually been sparring over the last few weeks knows I have become a regular and they know that while I'm nowhere near the best I'm pretty good and not easy to beat. My win/loss ratio pretty much aligned with my skill and were nothing too special, it was only that the numbers were so high that I stood out. If you were to ask any of the most regular sparrers (other than iMask) they would tell you that they have never seen me boosting, and that they have probably sparred against me. My point is that if I were a booster like iMask claimed, I wouldn't have: a) Racked up nearly 500 losses for no reason b) Been able to spar close games against and occasionally beat sparrers with 1000+ wins and 4:1 or better win loss ratios All in all I feel as if a troll player was able to get me banned for no reason due to a neglect on the part of the admins to actually look at what happens in the spar room. It was hard to see my stats get reset because I felt as if I had worked hard to improve myself over the weeks I had been playing and earn my score. Even so, I wouldn't have minded a real stat reset so I could prove my ability to the admins, but they chose to set my wins to 0 with nearly 500 losses left in place. Since then, I have purchased graalats to reset my score and try to start over because I really do enjoy sparring. iMask has already gotten his gloating in for getting me banned and hopefully now he will leave me alone. I hope that in the future, the mods and admins will be more willing to examine cases before listening to the reports of just any toxic player. I've tried to support this game by purchasing graalats many times in a short amount of time, and will probably continue to do so, but I want you guys to know that I feel pretty wronged by the staff and others in my situation would probably just quit. |

I've seen you beat people like my brother jake. I saw you beat him quite easily, and pretty fast. By the way, you're not supposed to discuss bans on graalians. I recommend you copy this so you don't lose all this typing time once a mod closes he thread.

I can't believe that after one crybaby player goes and reports you that you get banned with no questions asked. How unprofessional..
