He's not mad about buying the statues. He says he finds that the whole admin doll/admin statue as prizes system only promotes staff worship/asskissing and that we shouldn't idolize them over regular players.

@Jeni Yes alot of people play and like the prizes because they think having a doll of some random admin makes them "kul" and gives them "swaq". If you can't give ec why not hats or something with some use to it.

@Snk Yes, it's rather stupid imo to have to provide the statues for the admins to use but that wasn't my main point of the thread, John clarified what I meant basically.

I do give hats...I don't do the doll/statue bit as I said. I guess it is up to staff preference what they choose to do incrementally since technically nobody is even required to host events at all.  

Surely the solution is to not do events if you don't like the prizes?  

That's what I thought @ Greg. Hence the free statue idea

I don't, but a large majority of the playerbase that aren't elitist sparrers do.  

I have to agree with goten here. Staff (mostly the new ones) throw down doll statues every chance they get and they think players will fawn over them. When I was playing events once, I could've sworn I saw at least 3 statues for 50 dolls each. Some staff even throw them down in the path of races like multirace and force the player in first place to take the doll before continuing and hindering their ability to win.  

This is exactly what I say, I don't see the point in having anything that doesn't give you an advantage I the game, this is why I'm not trying to get supers that aren't melees, they're useless and all they give you is bragging rights. That's not gonna help very much in basing  

Atleast they're doing some sort of contest for you guys...

The point of this thread isn't me raging about the crappy prizes I received. Read the post John said, THAT'S what I was going for. I'd rather the prize be nothing than s*** that just promotes some arrogant fools on a game. Dolls and statues of admins? Wtf these people aren't gods. By giving these out as event prizes it gives players the idea that admins should be worshipped over regular players. It's annoying and some admins just love the attention which makes this even worst.  

Ok we clarified what you mean. Now what kind of prizes did you have in mind?  

If people think having a doll of someone in a 99 cent game with 1000 players who is probably not of any significance in real life is an achievement they should reevaluate their lives.  

Maybe give out special bodies or special heads instead of statues/dolls. Then, only a few people can win them and wear them.

Maybe if you win an event, you can select a certain custom body/head and have the admin give it to you for free?

That's too complicated. If people want that as prizes the best way would be to give "Free head tokens" or "Free body tokens" which would just be a small coin that would go in your inventory that's untradable and undroppable. It would just allow one free upload of any head or body of your choosing (depending which token it is to determine if you get a head or body). It would be rather simple, when you upload the body and get the confirmation it would give you two payment methods. The gralats, or the custom token. This would be much simpler and would require admins to do no work. But this won't happen anyway so the best prizes for admin hosted events that aren't at the event house like hide n seek would be hats. Ec works too.
