iZone need guns admin
Hello, today I would like to talk about the current situation with the guns. If you have already read Tunder's "Guns idea with more variety" thread, in the future improvement section, it is quite similar to what I'm about to discuss. As you all know, the guns on iZone are pretty much the same. There isn't any big factor or aspect to the many guns that was released recently. Yes, some may have a faster RoF (Rate of Fire), bigger clip or higher damage. And also the price ranges are almost very random, and some guns stats simply does not match up to its price. I myself and Tunder is a long time player and very experience sparrer. Along with that, we had discuss about the current situation. We have many ideas to implement into the guns. Which will add more fun and excitement to community. Not only that, but sparring, pking, and taking planets will be much more thrilling. These are some of the ideas Tunder and I had came up with. To add more variation to the guns. We had came up with: freeze time, slow movement, stacked damage, multiple bullets etc. Ex: Freeze time is how fast you can move around while shooting your gun. As of right now, you can move freely and shoot however you like. Freeze time should reduce your time of movement before shooting the next bullet. Something like this would most likely relates to higher damage guns. Moving on, slow movement would result in your character moving around slower when using the gun (only activated by shooting). Again, this would relates to higher damage weapon tier. Stacked damage and mulitple bullets is something Tunder and I would like to implement on this server. An example would be the shotgun at gun shop 2. If you haven't already know, it is semi-automatic and only shoot one bullet. What is the problem with this? Well a shotgun shouldn't be shooting one bullet instead it should shoot multiple. My idea was to create a shotgun which shoot 3-4 bullets each doing 4 damage. Meaning, if one bullet hits you, then it will only deal 4 damage. If all 3 bullet hits you then it would add up to a total of 12 damage. This is just a proposed idea, but if iZone staff team decides to make a new branch in regarding to fixing up the guns and adding improvement. Tunder and I would gladly help out and give our opinions and ideas. |

While I've never looked into scripting for Graal specifically, I do have a background in game programming. If I could take a look at the code behind the different guns already existing in Zone, I'm sure I could mock up examples from ideas I've discussed with players in game. That wouldn't be too difficult; in reality, what Zone needs is more consideration into the ideas behind the guns, not any major changes to the weapons engine. I'm not looking for a job, but I'd be happy to take on the role of gun designer/scripter if it would help Zone out. Dragun and I simply felt that the guns being released aren't helping Zone evolve in any way -- for the last 2-3 months, the new weapons have shown a lack of creativity, or exhibited signs of being designed by people who don't necessarily have much experience with Zone PvP. There is a split between the quality and release rate of new content being made for other aspects of Zone (events, facebook connectivity and eventual PC play, etc) and that of the weapons. Since Zone is completely founded upon the top down 2D arena style shooting mechanism, it makes sense that there be people dedicated solely to gun design (after all, there are dedicated level designers, a dedicated events team, and so on). Dragun and I could mock up weapons, test them out in a spar like setting, get feedback from regular players, make refinements, and then consult the "higher ups" regarding how and when they should be released, at what price, etc. I guarantee that we could come up with innovative but still reasonable gun ideas what would make Zone more enjoyable, as well as help create a richer PvP experience (by giving weapons more nuance and catering to different play styles). |
