tldw- These parents somehow got a copy of GTA 5 a few days early for their 11 year old son. The vid starts with the kid BAWLING his eyes out in hapiness while his mother embraces him laughing, with his dad laughing in the background.
He then takes the game kissing it and cuddles it to his cheek.

I'm not sure whether to be incredulous at his reaction or the fact that the parents - who I'm assuming are completely aware of the game's content - actually buy the game for this 11-year-old boy.

Yeah... Worst parents out there. I've heard how kids talk on mics on M games and it just goes to show they can't handle them. GTA though takes it to a whole new level. There are strippers and **** in that game. You shouldn't be exposed to that stuff like it's normal. My hope for humanity has been lowered yet again.

like you said, extreme case. you can say the same happens when adults play games (lolol norway massacre he played cod for training it must b da reason!!!, columbine bcuz of doom okok). i'm sure the kid played gta 4 and the parents didn't mind, so he can probably handle gta 5.

Children are impressionable. If a child plays a video game like GTA, Saints Row, whatever, they might start thinking that violence like that, which is portrayed as an OK thing to do in a video game, is OK to do in real life. I can bore you with statistics and whatever about how violent games can increase a child's aggressiveness but I won't :3 It's just not something you should be doing.

except i was a child and wasn't exactly influenced that way by the games i played, lol. im sure you were once a child too~

also those statistics should be taken with a grain of salt. they're usually out of context and the correlations don't necessarily explain anything.

I'm sure you must have been seeing the way you think now. Children's minds are more underdeveloped than adults. They are more prone to imitating actions. Just because you didn't do anything, doesn't mean it won't effect other kids. Who knows, it could have even desensitized you to violence. The game is M+17 for a reason. Not meant for kids whatsoever. If you even think it's okay for a kid to play that kind of game it's wrong.

They probably got him Call Of Duty when he was 6...

I don't understand how mildly increasing a kids agressiveness will cause anything? If you're trying to start up the whole "violent video games cause school shootings" arguement, we can bore you with statistics telling you how this isn't true
