GamePad Support
wow. We can use wireless controllers now? Instead of bitching about how this may change the spar game, i'd much rather like to focus on this, how does it work exactly? It hasn't recognized my keyboard as a controller, nor has it recognized my "WiiMote" as a useable controller, Is there a list yet of what's been supported, and what's not?

Playing with a D-pad or analog stick is essentially the same as playing on a touchscreen device, depending on what you're more comfortable with. What I mean is there are no actual advantages in respect to movement, etc., other than personal preference and finding one more comfortable than the other. I've used a PS2 controller and a SNES controller to spar on PC before. The PS2 controller felt awkward and my thumb was dead with the SNES D-pad after 10 minutes of sparring. Both are 100% obsolete to keyboards. I read up on it anyway and there doesn't seem to be much information so far:

ah, thanks thallen, I realize it wouldn't be much of an advantage, but sense venture rules don't allow us to use NPC weapons, I'd rather have my Wireless NES controller to work, D-pad and A + B for grab and sword. It'd be a lot more comfortable than holding my iPad like i normaly do. (Also, i've used BluTrol before, which allows you to use external controllers, however if i moved from down to up+right or left on the wiimote, the controls would lock up, and wouldn't allow me to move. MAYBE this won't be the case, and i hope not. But i'd love to use my wireless NES controler to play with. It'd make me feel more at home, Or maybe a SNES controller like you've used would be more suit, But as stated, I don't require a lot of buttons from day-to-day play.

lol what? also. after figiting around a bit, the gamepad support doesn't recognize the keyboard for my iPad, however it does work, (to an extent) It's very awkward and broken, however I'm glad to see the effort being put forth. j,k,l,i, "work" what i mean by work is, "you can't strafe, you can't walk in diagonals, and when you press a direction, you move, stop, and then move. .... it's very awkward. Also, if you hit the key that has a +/= sign on it, on the bluetooth keyboard, it will crash the app.... u_u but as i stated, i'm glad to see the effort, I don't know anything about using Wii game's on your iPad, however apps like GSPphone (GBA emu,) use it for external controllers. and some NES and SNES emu's use this feature aswell.

There's no way you can really compare a gamepad to a touchscreen. Just the fact that you have a physical response is a huge boon. Most of my screwups are hitting grab/d when trying to use my sword. Then again I have an ipad2 and even with large controls they're still fairly small... Not saying this will give you an advantage, but even after years of having touchscreens around I still can't stand them. Like I said, it's just the physical presence of a button that helps you know what you're doing. |

When I scan for controllers my ps3 controller doesn't pop up. Does anyone know if ps3 controllers are compatible or not?

No controllers work. No wiimote or ps3 controller nothing. Apple has yet to release these controllers.
