Windows 8
Not too sure what to think about, I see negative and positive reviews, but mostly negative. What's your personal opinion on Windows 8? I'm thinking about getting the HP Pavillion 17.3" Laptop, and it runs on Windows 8.

I dislike Windows 8 and I hope they go back to the traditional style in Windows 9. Its obvious it was designed with touch screens and tablets in mind. |

It is made for tablets, but that's not to say it isn't functional on a normal laptop. You just need to get used to it.

The only way you can really get it anymore is if the manufacturer lets you customize your laptop online. I know gaming laptops like ASUS RoG and Alienware still let you get it. Most online retailers let you filter results by OS as well so that should help. But no you're not going to find Windows 7 preinstalled in stores anymore. |

I use windows 8 for school and its really annoying. Plus for example, if you were to play games on it, a few games aren't windows 8 compatible

After looking further, I found a Windows 7 Acer- Aspire V3 17.3" Laptop. Not to sure which to buy. I figure the Acer would probably be a better brand compared to HP. Edit: I was thinking Dell was HP, Dells seem unreliable to me.

I've got a Win8 laptop and a Win7 desktop. Win8 feels a lot like a tablet, and as much as I hate to admit it, it's a nice feel for when I'm away from my main rig. I wouldn't suggest it for a main rig though, it just doesn't feel like a fully functional operating system.

I like it on my laptop, but then again I only ever use it in bed or while I'm out so it might as well be a tablet. I probably would have gotten a Win8 tablet if I didn't plan to play League and didn't hate touchscreens so much.
