http://www.speedtest.net/result/3002879351.png (Unsupported image host) Apartments have recently moved over to what I think is satellite internet... I hate it. Despite living in Maryland, it thinks I am in Kansas. BUT if I test a server in Kansas I get a horrible ping, and that 13ms is from testing nearby servers. So when I play online, it's matching me to players in Kansas, despite it being a worse connection -_- Also, it's satellite so my connection goes from the above, to this: http://www.speedtest.net/result/3003249402.png (Unsupported image host) Whenever it damn well pleases. |

People wouldn't have to get Google, just the fact that Google would be spreading and providing way better internet at a fraction of the cost would be enough incentive for other providers to step it up. If Google Fibre spread enough, you'd certainly see competitive prices/services rise out of the same companies that say "we don't provide better speeds because the consumers don't want it."
