The sad part is that they won't even tell us that our characters are completely gone forever. They're just like "Oh there's a problem we didn't notice? Maybe our big fix will patch it up!"

I started one on the slot I didn't use as that might be safe. Rockstar haven't actually helped at all, they have said there is a problem but not what to do about it such as if it is ok to create a new one.

Okay this will be the last time I'm making a character. Would someone be kind enough to host the violent duct missions for me? I'm on an Xbox, I just need to get some quick ranking up. For some reason when it deleted my account it kept my money though, I have 78000 dollars which is nice.

You know, if rockstar just left GTA V as the single player game, it would still be a 10/10 and no one would complain. Yes I understand that you have the right to complain, but can you really blame Rockstar? You are kind of a fool if you expected this to launch without any issues seeing as this is their first really big online experience.

Rockstar didn't have a choice. Publishers demand crap like multiplayer to be tacked on despite developers rarely ever actually wanting it. As far as I know, Rockstar were still actually working on multiplayer all the way up until the day of release, probably putting in a ton of overtime to get it done just because publishers scream at them to put it in the game.

Even planned and organized and everything goes as expected online games have a rough first month. It's best to just wait a while and then revisit it after everything is sorted out.

The addition of multiplayer was inevitable for a game like GTA. It just makes sense for what the game is.
I don't feel like the multiplayer is tacked on at all. Rushed yes, but not tacked on.

So what happens when your character disappears? What do you loose and what do you keep?

Character got deleted, I was level so far. Damn. It's much worse when you play for almost a week and log over 40 hours and get deleted.

I expected the usual problems of severe lag and glitches with possible occasional issues like characters being deleted but not waiting days to actually play after it came out and then losing everything. Rockstar had said that their patch would fix character deletion but then more got deleted than before.

I commend rockstar for enhancing the game experience with an online version, as buggy as it is. The story is already fairly long and to add this only makes it better. Sometimes I wonder if some of you guys ever lose your pessimism.
