Not for anything in the in-game campaign/story. Doesn't really matter what your team is, it's still faceroll easy. Even if you have five starter Pokemon all of the same type, which everyone seems to do. Once you start talking competitive, whether via Union club or simulator, then we can seriously talk type coverage. |

Why are you so adamant in defending a brokenly easy story mode? Also... Volcarona (F) @ Leftovers EVs: 240 HP / 252 Def / 16 Spe Nature: Timid Trait: Swarm ~ Quiver Dance ~ Fiery Dance ~ Bug Buzz ~ Roost ... Can sweep a water-based team easily after one Quiver Dance with Bug Buzz and Roost. Virtually impossible to OHKO without a Rock-type STAB due to 240 HP and 252 Def (or SDef) EVs. Given that a Water-type hits it with a relatively strong attack (e.g. Surf, gyms don't use HP or other) during the turn Volcarona Quiver Dances, it will probably be enough to break the 2/3 HP threshold but not kill it. At this point after Volcarona's Quiver Dance, it reaches 150 Speed (higher than the highest base speeds except Ninjask and Deoxys-S) which would then outspeed the other Pokemon, as well as a 1.5x boost in SpAtk and SpDef - not to mention, it's now at 1/3 HP which would proc Swarm, essentially giving Volcarona a 135 Base Power (180 taking STAB into consideration) Bug Buzz, which when used by a Pokemon with 135 base SpAtk (which is now boosted 1.5x), can easily OHKO anything that doesn't resist it - most Water types. Even if Volcarona doesn't get brought down to the 1/3 HP threshold and survives fairly healthy after the Quiver Dance, it can simply keep repeating Quiver Dance to raise its SpAtk, Speed, and SpDef. With even two boosts in SpDef and 252 Def EVs, Volcarona becomes extremely tanky with HUGE attacking potential in Bug Buzz after the SpAtk boosts that come with Quiver Dance, not to mention being able to outspeed anything that's unboosted. |
