To celebrate the holidays in a special way this year, Left 4 Dead 2 will be free until 10AM PST on 12/26.

It will be free as in, grab it now, pay no money, and it is yours to keep forever – FOR FREE!

To claim your L4D2 gift, all you need to do is install it.

If you don’t install, it goes back to its regular price and you miss out! The zombie apocalypse is more fun with friends so make sure to tell all your mates to install it as well.

Yeah. I just added it to my account and after the tension dies down (probably tomorrow after the freebie ends), I'll try to download it.

I heard that pasting this 'steam://install/550' in the run command box or if you use chrome (not searching it) that it should work. I used google chrome to get it and it worked pretty well.

it's a good thing steam hates modding or anything of the sort. i mean, it's not like someone actually created a mod where it loads the original survivors on the new maps. It's also great that Valve didn't introduce the old levels into two or anything.
