Bad ideas with the long term subscriptions. Graal wants to avoid those because they want you to keep coming back each month. Sure maybe the subscriptions would make a lot of money but for only a certain amount of time. But the monthly subscription makes you come back every month.

Got a new idea for you guys I figure I would just throw it in this thread rather than start a new one. I know we have discussed the out dated tutorial system in the past in other threads, and I was thinking the other day what would be a cool way to revamp it. Instead of just having a check list of stuff you go through on a scroll to try out it could be more of like a quest. Instead of starting off with a sword, bombs, and bow n arrows you would have to find one at a time then use them to open the way to the next one like many of the LOZ games. You would start off in a house with an NPC and when you talk to him you find out he is your mentor and he will help you learn the basics of Classic. He instructs you to check the chest over there and to take the item inside and he will be waiting for you in the next room. You check the chest then you receive the bow n arrows, and they are automatically equipped in one of your item slots. There is a short message about using them to take down your enemies from afar. So you roll into the next room and there is a baddie behind a wall that runs through the middle of the room and there is a door in the middle but its locked. Your "mentor" stands in front of it. When you go to talk to him he instructs you to take out the baddie with your arrows, and if you happen to run out don't worry just talk to him and he will gladly hand over some more. So you take out the baddie with a volley of arrows and the door opens. You head through the newly opened door and find your mentor standing by chest in the back of the room. He again instructs you to take the item inside and come into the next room where he will be waiting. You open the chest and receive bombs you get another message on your screen telling you can use bombs to damage foes, certain objects, and open hidden passages. You head into the next room to meet up with your mentor. Again upon entering you see a wall running through the front part of the room with door in the middle, and a baddie behind it. Your Mentor standing there tells you to shuck bombs over the wall to take the baddie out to open the door. After you blow up the baddie the door opens but this time you find another wall running through the middle of the room. If you talk to your mentor again he tells you he is sure there is away through, and to check the wall carefully for a weakness. After examining the wall you find a crack in a section of it. If you talk to your mentor again he tells you to try placing a bomb and blowing a hole in the wall. Once you blast your way through your mentor instructs you to open the chest inside you find a sword and shield with a message about not only slashing through tall grass, and bushes but being able to vanquish your enemies. Your mentor says that we should move on to the next room. As soon as you enter the next room a couple baddies rush you,and your mentor runs off behind a wall in the middle of the room and a door closes behind him. After you fend off 2 baddies you can cut through some tall grass and get gralats or precede through the door in the wall. Once you move through the door you find another wall with a baddie behind it,however its not a normal baddie its a boss baddie with 4 lp instead of 3 like the others. You also notice the door has been sealed shut, and there is a crack in it keeping it from being opened. You can take out the baddie with bombs, arrows or wait and bomb through the door, and take it out with your sword. After you blast through the door, the boss baddie has been slain, and your mentor has been rescued. You open a chest and find a gold gralat inside with a message telling you about the different gralats and their values. You talk to your mentor one final time he thinks you,and then says he knows it aint much but take this as reward and gives you 400 gralats for your trouble. He tells you that you are now fully prepared for your journey, and then opens a secret panel in the back of the room revealing away out. He hands you a world map (which adds the icon to where it normally is on the upper left side of your screen),and tells you to be careful of the baddies as you make your way across Balamb Island to the dock on the other side where you will find a ship that will take you to the main land. You exit out the secret door and enter into the Balamb Island we all know and love. Imo they could also tweak Master Li's dojo so instead of just saying welcome the NPC'S each give you some basic info about sparring. I.e. what it is,the leader board, and maybe about the battle arena in Graal city or something. They could also do the same thing with MOD (the unstick me point not the tower) where NPC's would tell you the basics of guilds, and towering. And maybe even add a room with a practice flag with a small amount of hp (5-10). Just thought these could be ways to improve the tutorial system by making it a little more in depth. |
