I thought they wouldn't do something like that because there would be to many ppl entering it and it would take forever? wait nvm I'm sure there will be some idiotic format to determine the top 64 ranked sparrers so only they get to be in the tournament every single time and nobody else will get to enter and win stuff. The current GST qualifying requirements are crap and it needs changed to allow more of an open field. There are so many different options that could be utilized to keep it from taking to long of a time to conduct the tournament that would allow for more ppl to be in it. Yet ppl don't want change they wanna watch the same teams compete every single time. I just don't get it. Why can't they just make it into a league or seasons so its more like a sport. That way ANY amount of teams can enter but only the teams with the best win-loss records for that set period can make it into the GST rather than having to have a high enough rating. Maybe it would be to much for them to hire a hand full of ppl to act as ref's to help run a league if need be. |

you greatly exaggerate how difficult it is to qualify for the GST it's the top 64 teams on the leaderboard for the iDevice side and the top 32 for the Mixed side that means that even the guild ranked 96th has a chance at entering which means this team could would potentially be in the iDevice GST if it was tomorrow: ![]() if they did end up doing a singles tournament, it should be the exact same format the top 64 iDevices and the top 32 iDevices/PCs who opt to enter the mixed side it makes the most sense, encourages people to spar more actively, etc. the new singles leaderboard system adds some consistency to rankings and makes it much more difficult to manipulate and cheat your score so that qualification system compliments it pretty well |

bump can we do this yet signups at desk, 64/32, selects the 64/32 players with the most spar points and creates brackets, etc. it takes like 6 hours of sparring as a 1:1 player to get into the top 64, maybe 2 hours if you're actually good seems pretty doable

1v1 tournament make it happen. If GST can go smoothly, no reason this can't. The fact there hasn't been any real updates to spar games in awhile makes me think they don't really give a ****. Most fun I had on UN was spar tournaments, 2v2 spars, and big 5v5 tag team spars. Decus and Cyril offered up their time and skills to specifically work on spar/guild events on iClassic and Xors ego wouldn't give them a shot. If we want something done like this, we need to rally together and bug him until he makes it happen. You get banned, contact apple. I've talked to a few apple employees about unfair bans and other wrong doings and they have their eye on this game. Real money gets paid by us the players so we shouldn't be ignored.
