Why isn't my mining speed getting faster?

I am currently a level 5 miner, but I was wondering if the speed increase actually was noticeable already, so I timed myself drilling a rock. It was 30 seconds on the dot each time. The rock pile grew every ten seconds thus totaling 30 seconds for 1 rock. Is there something wrong?

The mining time goes down .1 second each level.

I've checked it's 0.11 seconds for each rock to spawn.

Nice to know, mining takes a lot of time to do though, so, level sixty would be like, instant rocks or something?

I've always had this idea.

Buy a fake plastic hand, glue, and a sowing machine.

I'd take the fake hand, cute the skin off my finger, glue the skin to the pointer finger of the fake hand. Then I'd jimmy rig the sowing machine to hold the hand, and have a slower rate of speed. Then place my iPad under the pointer finger and mine for 3 weeks straight.

Profit.

my friend already created a bot to automine/process rocks
but they implemented a system where you get teleported out after you're in there too long

Ahh thanks everyone. How much are rocks/minerals worth in trading? Are they worth the same as shells? At level 99 I would imagine it being pretty easy to get a lot of items or money in a relatively short period of time..

By my calculations.
Trying to reach level 50 will take 4 months. (Depends on how active you are)
99 is another 3 and half month.
